General Auto Repair
General Auto Repair: Brakes, Engines and Cooling
Electrical is our specialty, but we are a full service shop. Most customers would rather bring a vehicle to one place that knows it, so we handle the mechanical work too.

Repairs and maintenance we handle
- Brake pads, rotors, calipers, hoses and master cylinders
- Engine repair, timing components and gasket work
- Cooling systems, radiators, water pumps and overheating diagnosis
- Suspension and steering components
- Belts, hoses, filters and scheduled maintenance
- Pre-purchase inspections before you buy a used vehicle
One shop that knows the whole vehicle
Plenty of problems sit right on the line between mechanical and electrical. An overheating engine might be a water pump or it might be a cooling fan circuit. A crank with no start might be fuel or it might be an ignition switch. A shop that only does one side of that line ends up sending you somewhere else halfway through the diagnosis.
We do both, which means the diagnosis does not stop at a boundary and you are not paying two shops to each find half of one problem.
General Auto Repair questions we get asked
Do I need an appointment?
Calling first is always better, especially if you need the vehicle back the same day. We are open Monday through Thursday from 9 AM to 5 PM, and closed Friday through Sunday. Call (956) 487-2143 and we will tell you honestly when we can get to it.
Do you provide an estimate before doing the work?
Yes. We diagnose the problem, explain what we found, and quote the repair before we proceed. If we find something additional once we are into the job, we call you before doing anything beyond what you approved.
Do you speak Spanish?
Yes. Se habla español. We have served this community since 1997 and you can talk to us in whichever language you prefer.

Got a problem nobody else could figure out?
That is usually when people call us. Tell us what the vehicle is doing and we will tell you straight whether we can help.
